3 Sweet Campfire Treats

Almost everyone loves eating warm, gooey s’mores around a crackling campfire on a summer night, but how about fanning the flames with some variety? Next time you’re setting up camp, feast your eyes (and your stomach!) on these other tasty treats that put a twist on traditional fireside snacks.

Campfire Banana Boats

What you’ll need: Banana, chocolate chips, marshmallows, peanut butter, heavy-duty aluminum foil

For a deliciously ooey-gooey dessert, cut a banana down the middle, leaving it in the peel. Stuff it with marshmallows, chocolate chips, and peanut butter; then, wrap the whole thing in heavy-duty aluminum foil. Place it in the hot coals of your grill or fire for about 5 to 10 minutes, turning and rotating frequently.

Sweet Skewer Breadsticks

What you’ll need: Refrigerated breadstick or crescent roll dough, butter, confectioners’ sugar, cinnamon, skewer stick

Breadsticks may not be an iconic campfire food, so let’s put a twist on these sweet snacks. Cut strips of refrigerated dough in half and stick them onto your skewer lengthwise. Toast the strips over the campfire until they’re golden brown. Brush the breadstick with melted butter and then sprinkle it with confectioners’ sugar and cinnamon.

Strawberry S’more Cones

What you’ll need: Ice cream cones, strawberries, marshmallows, chocolate chips, heavy-duty aluminum foil

Craving the taste of a traditional s’more without the sticky mess? Grab an ice cream cone and fill it with marshmallows, chocolate chips, and cut strawberries — if you layer the ingredients, you’ll get more flavors in each bite! Wrap your creation in heavy-duty aluminum foil and heat it on a grill or over the campfire for about 5 minutes.
