Each month, Texas Farm Bureau Insurance brings you a monthly checklist to help keep your family, household, and insurance needs in order and top of mind, including everything from cleaning and organizing to “don’t forgets” and holiday info.

December 2015 Monthly Checklist

  • Show your patriotism by lowering your flag to half-staff Dec. 7 in honor of those who lost their lives during the attack on Pearl Harbor.
  • Make sure to get those Christmas cards in the mail by Dec. 9, National Christmas Card Day.
  • 12 is Poinsettia Day, so make sure to pick one up to spruce up your holiday decor and follow these tips on caring for your poinsettia.
  • The season is bright, so protect your eyes by taking advantage of Texas Farm Bureau’s partnership with the Coast to Coast VisionTM Plan (CTC). Members can save 20 to 60 percent on lenses and frames.
  • Give a Dell this holiday season and get big savings in return! Texas Farm Bureau members get exclusive discounts and offers on Dell consumer PCs, tablets, electronics, and accessories.
  • Organize a holiday cookie swap with neighbors and friends on Dec. 19, the day after National Bake Cookies Day!
  • Celebrate Dec. 23 with a traditional Festivus meatloaf dinner before displaying your own Feats of Strength à la Jerry Seinfeld.
  • After unwrapping all the gifts beneath the tree, complete a full home inventory with this downloadable form to ensure your new treasures are covered.
  • December is prime time for driving around town to view holiday light displays, but it’s also peak season for distracted drivers. Make sure your vehicle is fully insured before heading out to see the lights by scheduling a 360 Review with your agent.
