By TEXAS HERITAGE FOR LIVING 1.9.23

Congratulations to the five winners of our annual photo contest. Connect with us on Facebook to participate in next year’s challenge!

1. Doris Sharp made an edible cornucopia.

Her recipe: Use foil to make a cornucopia shape as a base. Roll out a pack of crescent rolls until flat and cut into strips. Braid pieces of the crescent roll together to make thicker braided strips. Wrap the braided crescent rolls around to cover foil. Bake until brown and crispy. Let cool and pull out the front of the foil. Fill with pretty fruits, nuts, and cheeses. Enjoy!

2. Sami O’Brien baked a buttermilk pie.

Her recipe: Preheat oven to 350 F. Melt 6 tablespoons of butter. Mix in 1 tablespoon of vanilla, 3 heaping tablespoons of flour, and 2 cups of sugar. Add 3 lightly beaten eggs one at a time, beating after each. Slowly add 2/3 cup of buttermilk. Pour mixture into an unbaked pie shell and bake for 45 minutes. Allow to cool completely before slicing.

3. Wendy Lorie baked a coconut meringue pie from Just a Pinch.

4. Tiffany Keith baked Nutella Star Bread from That Bread Lady.

5. Dixie Dubuisson made this white chocolate almond raspberry cake from Baker By Nature (she used lingonberry jam instead of raspberry jam).

Thank you to all the wonderful bakers who submitted photos and voted! Until next time! Find more recipe inspiration here.
