Score Big With These 4 Tailgating Treats

By M. Elise Giller 9.7.16

Are you ready for some football? It’s that time of year again, and tailgating before the big game is as much a part of the tradition as Cowboys and Texans.

Whether that’s in the parking lot or on the patio, your snack menu has to be on point before kickoff. Here are four flavorful recipes to make your gathering a winner!

BBQ Ranch Popcorn

Get the best of both worlds — smoky barbecue and tangy ranch dressing — with this recipe. Sprinkle microwave-popped popcorn with smoked paprika, brown sugar, and ranch dressing mix. Store in an airtight container, and try to contain yourself until kickoff.

Spicy Deviled Eggs

Scoop the yolks out of hard-boiled eggs and combine them with mayo, mustard, vinegar, ground red pepper, and kosher salt. Spoon the mixture back into the egg whites. Cut chives into 1-centimeter pieces and arrange them on top of each egg to look like the laces on a football. Snap a quick pic of your creation, then chow down.

Biscuits with Maple and Mustard

Make your own biscuits from scratch, or start with dough from the supermarket. Either way, bake until they’re golden brown, then split each biscuit open and slather with grainy mustard and a dollop of maple syrup. Pile on your favorite sliced ham and score a tasty treat.

Easy-Peasy Lemon Bars

Blend butter with sugar and flour and press into a baking pan. Bake for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, whisk sugar, flour, eggs, and lemon juice and pour the mixture over the crust. Then bake again for about 20 minutes. Let cool and cut into squares. Now that’s sweet!
